It's fun when exciting milestones happen to your friends -- milestones mean cards (at least to some of us :), and therefore actually FORCE us to craft. Got to make use of all those fun tools taking up space, right?
First, I learned that Vanessa had signed a P&S on a townhouse in Stoneham. YAY! Time to break out the A Muse Leafy Tree image (with Lime Green Stickles... a great color for spring leaves). I smudged the ink a little above the "Wonderful" sentiment, and after some hemming and hawing, I decided to put a butterfly (made shimmery with a Spica marker) over the smudge. Good as new!
Then, I learned that Amy D., fellow card enthusiast (and George Michael fanatic!), was expecting. Another YAY! There are so many cute A Muse images to choose from -- I think it took me longer to pick out the images than it took to actually make the card! I decided to get off my duff and even use some of the adorable Making Memories flower brads that Jean S. so generously gave to me.
Finally, my colleague Laura came into work on Tuesday sporting an absolutely beautiful and brand-new ring, and so OF COURSE I had to celebrate her great news with a homemade card, right? I find engagement cards to be among the hardest to make, because the most logical image to me is an engagement ring... but these images tend to be small, and I find it difficult to come up with an interesting design that covers enough of the space on the card. Then it occurred to me to use this pretty bridal bouquet image (colored with various Spica markers for a little bling). I used the ring stamp on the inside of the card, along with A Muse's (retired) Best Wishes sentiment. Finally, I used some of the amazing new A Muse ribbon for the finishing touch.
Ok, folks, let's keep the good news coming so I can keep up the craftiness! :)
