This weekend I finally had some time to play with the new A Muse summer images. I was hoping to really get my craft on and be extremely prolific, but alas... in spite of good intentions, all I ended up really creating was this one design. However, I was really, really pleased with how it came out... so I guess it's all good in the end.
I knew I wanted to use some of A Muse's new petite gingham paper (in yellow), and put it on a (palm) 4-bar notecard, using some lime green grosgrain stitch ribbon. On white cardstock, I stamped the palm trees in Memento rich cocoa, then stamped the large oval (in ColorBox Chalk olive pastel) to create the island. Cut a robin's egg blue notecard to size and put it together with the white piece to create some water. Stamped the snorkling boy (in A Muse black dye ink) on white cardstock, colored with Copics, and (rather painstakingly) cut him out with detail scissors -- yes, I even cut out his little fingers. Stuck him on the blue cardstock. Stamped sentiment. Took a small amount of Stickles (lime green) to make the palm trees green and sparkly, and I was good to go.
But every time I look at this card, the Pink Floyd comes into my head... and won't leave. Not a bad thing... just sayin'. :)
