Although the first few weeks of 2010 have been incredibly busy (per usual), I am thankful that I have been able to find even a little bit of time to get crafty -- both by teaching classes, and by getting together with my crafty lady friends for some fun.
This past Sunday I had a ton of fun hosting my second-annual Valentine's-themed Shoebox Swap. I was able to fit 15 ladies in my house (thanks to some great new tables and chairs from IKEA) and we had a grand time. Swaps are always a great way to build up a card stash, quickly, and with a variety of cards and styles. Ben was home the whole time, but we hardly saw him... I am very lucky to be married to such a sweet guy who has no issue whatsoever with a bunch of women invading the house and sprinkling glitter everywhere! :)
For my swap design, I chose to use papers and ribbon from Stampin' Up! (Chocolate Chip & Pretty in Pink), and two beloved images from Savvy Stamps (this giraffe duo is one of the sweetest images I have ever darn seen). And I used a random puffy heart sticker that I found in my craft stash... I bought them at least a year ago and squirreled them away amongst my embellishments. Glad I found 'em! Used Memento ink in Rich Cocoa, a Skin White Copic marker, and a Sand Spica pen to line the giraffes' images.
Thanks for stopping by!
