Today is a work AND daycare holiday, the little guy is taking an unexpected morning nap, and I think I might have enough time to throw up a blog post! Crafty time has been rare, but I have managed to sneak in a little time here and there to throw together a couple of designs. The images I'm about to share are somewhat embarrassingly simple but hey, I'll take what I can get these days.
I had very little time to make some cards to send to some of my very favorite mothers. I used A Muse papers (the card base itself is a long-retired color from the A Muse Artstamps days; the brown is the still-current French Roast). Main image is by A Muse Studio; sentiment is by A Muse Artstamps. The image is stamped in Brilliance Ivy (for just a little bit of shimmer); sentiment is in Memento Rich Cocoa.
I made this card for a Shoebox Swap at Ink About It... man... back in June? I have no concept of time! But -- there's another such swap coming up at IAI on October 21st; if you have not already done so, sign up! Details are up on the calendar on their website. Anyway -- card base is Memory Box Key Lime; polka dot strip is Bo Bunny. I broke out the classic Fiskars Threading Water border punch. The lime image is from the long-retired Tart & Tangy set from Stampin' Up; sentiment is by A Muse Artstamps. Limes are stamped in Versamark Lime; sentiment stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid. The pretty pink pearls are by Memory Box.
I designed this card for a good friend of mine who recently got engaged. She's not the mushy sort, so I opted for something cheeky instead of something with an engagement ring. The adorable image is by Great Impressions; sentiment by A Muse Artstamps. Card base by A Muse Studio. Blue paper is Stampin' Up!'s Pacific Point. Punches are my trusty Marvy scalloped circles (I think blue and pink ones). That adorable washi tape is -- I think! -- by Trendy Tape. I scored it at Ink About It. To stamp the images, I used the old A Muse Artstamps black dye ink. I colored the birds with some classic Copic colors (Apricot, Canary, Cool Shadow, and Fuchsia). And the Stickles on the heart -- I almost forgot to mention! -- are the most amazing neon pink color, Glam Pink.
This last design is kind of uninspired, but I'm sharing it here for a reason: sometimes those random embellishments you score at a deep discount and hoard in your craft closet... you KNOW what I am talking about... well, sometimes they come in handy! I was fresh out of birthday cards and was fresh out of time to create a cute design. I dug around and found some Martha Stewart cupcake stickers (they are fabric) that I grabbed on clearance at Michael's two or maybe even three years ago. I thought -- these'll do just fine! Broke out the Memory Box cards I had just picked up at Ink About It (the color is called Daisy; it's a great, bright yellow that isn't too orange-y or too brown-y; it's a pure, lovely yellow), fished around for this most awesome sentiment from Savvy Stamps, and seriously, voila. Instant card.
Hopefully it will not be so long before I post again. Until then, be well and be crafty!
