Earlier this month (or maybe the end of last month?) I made this card for a monthly challenge I do with some of my closest crafty friends. I found this Memory Box sentiment (which comes with a little balloon stamp on the end) on the Impress website and I just loved it. I wont get too deep or philosophical here on Typepad but sometimes we do just have to let go. You know?
Oh, and obviously this card is expressing a metaphor. I have known for years and years that balloons released into the air cause all kinds of environmental hazards and whenever I see a balloon floating in the sky I actively worry about how and where it will eventually land. But again, I won't get too deep on this here blog. Just know that I am not actually suggesting that it's a good idea to go release a balloon into the atmosphere.
Yes, the photo is a little crooked. I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx ink, and used a quickie glue pen and some ultrafine glitter to bling it out a little bit. Instead of stamping the balloon (that's on the end of the sentiment's wood block), I used one of these cool balloon brads, also found at Impress. The balloon string gave me more than my fair share of trouble -- who knew how hard this seemingly small detail would be? I ended up using only a thread (or maybe two) of some thicker baker's twine I had on hand. The polka dot card base is by A Muse Studio; black paper (mounted under white) is by Stampin' Up!; white paper is by Neenah.
Thanks for stopping by. Christmas/holiday cards are coming very soon! Best wishes for 2016, everyone.
