Happy 2016! I hope the new year is finding you well. On this last day of an extended vacation -- before the hectic pace of regular life sets back in -- I thought I'd grab a couple of minutes to share our 2015 holiday cards. This year I did the family photo card (thanks to Tiny Prints) but also made handmade cards for most everyone on the list. It was time-consuming and admittedly a bit insane, but it was also satisfying to be so crafty and productive.
This first design we've seen before -- it was my creation for the November Shoebox Swap I hosted, and I have already shared the details in a previous blog post. (But this is a much better photo -- taking pics in the daylight really helps things!) ;-)
This design, and the next one, are variations on a theme. I said I found the time to be crafty -- but didn't say I found the time to be particularly creative. ;-) This snowman and sentiment stamps are both by Rosie's Roadshow, which is one of my favorite brands these days. Their wood-mount stamps are just delightful. The card base is an old A Muse Artstamps classic. I used Neenah white paper. Green paper and ribbon are from A Muse Studio. I used a couple of Marvy tag punches and a 1/8" hole punch to thread the ribbon. I stamped the images with Memento Rich Cocoa and added color with some classic Copic markers (Cool Shadow, Apricot, Lipstick Red). To add a little sparkle I used my Quickie Glue Pen and some ultrafine multi glitter.
Does this design look familiar? Again, the card base is an old A Muse Artstamps classic. Red paper and ribbon are from A Muse Studio. These two images are also from Rosie's Roadshow. And other than that... the supplies I used are exactly the same as those listed for the last design!
When time started to run out and I really needed to crank out a lot of cards in short order, I decided it was time to create new designs that eliminated glitter and the need for fussy Copic coloring (as fun as it is!). This beautiful sentiment is from Paper Source, and I stamped it in Encore gold metallic ink. I was pleased with the ink's sparkle as well as its fast dry time -- since sometimes these metallic ink pads can take *forever* to set. The card base is another old A Muse Artstamps classic. Green paper and ribbon are by A Muse Studio. I used Neenah white paper and a couple of old, beloved Marvy punches.
This card looks suspiciously like the last one, right? Card base is from A Muse Artstamps. Red paper and ribbon are from A Muse Studio. I stamped this gorgeous image (from Paper Source) on Neenah white cardstock with Encore gold ink.
And finally, here is our holiday photo card for 2015. We got such amazing photos (again) from our fantastic photographer friend Alycia Braga Miller, who owns Braga Photography. You can find her here on Facebook. We are so grateful to her for capturing our family so beautifully. Our little guy can be a shy guy (and a bit of a stinker at times) and without fail Alycia gets him out of his shell and coaxes the best smiles out of him.
Cheers to the new year!
